How to Properly Shampoo Your Hair

La'Carter Hair Shampooing Tutorial

Materials Needed:

  • La'Carter Growth Line
  • Detangling Comb
  • Rat Tail Comb
  • Plastic bag, streamer, or hooded dryer
  • Towel(s)
  1. Start by thoroughly wetting your hair with warm water. Make sure your hair is completely saturated before adding any shampoo.

  2. Dispense a quarter-sized amount of your chosen shampoo into the palm of your dominant hand. Rub your hands together to evenly distribute the shampoo, then apply it to your hair.

  3. Using both hands, distribute the shampoo from your temples to the back of your head, making sure to evenly saturate your hair. Massage the shampoo in using a circular motion to help lather it up.

  4. Rinse the shampoo out with warm or hot water. If you feel like your hair is particularly dirty, you can repeat this process with a dime-sized amount of shampoo.

  5. Apply a generous amount of conditioner to your hair, focusing on the ends first and working your way up to the scalp. Use a wide-toothed comb to detangle your hair, starting from the ends and working your way up to the roots.

  6. Allow the conditioner to sit in your hair for at least an hour. You can speed up the process by using a hair dryer or steamer, or by putting a shower cap over your hair.

  7. After the allotted time has passed, use a small comb to gently remove any dead skin from your scalp in small circular motions.

  8. Rinse your hair thoroughly with cool or tepid water to remove all the conditioner.

  9. Finally, style your hair as desired and enjoy your clean, healthy locks!
